2021 ADEM (Pending approval during the 2021 January 16th Special CDP Eboard Meeting)

The California Democratic Party  Bylaws (Article VI) provide that an Assembly District Election Meetings (ADEMS) be held in each of the 80 California Assembly Districts in January of each odd-numbered year (Saturday, January 09 or Sunday, January 10 and Saturday, January 23 or Sunday, January 24 for 2021) to elect 7 “self-identified female” and 7 “other than self-identified female” to be Assembly District Delegates (ADDs) to represent the Assembly District they are registered in. These elections are open to all California Democrats.

Assembly District Delegates (ADD)  the Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) are responsible for planning and attending informational meetings throughout the region and working with other DSCC delegates throughout California to represent their community.

AD Delegates are elected by voters (to participate in the ADEM you MUST be a registered Democrat in that Assembly District).

AD Delegates vote on behalf of the community they represent at CDP Regional Meetings, the California Democratic Party Convention, and those who are also elected to serve as an Executive Board member are responsible for voting and representing their community at the semi-annual E-Board meetings.

Note: If you are running as a candidate your application to run also allows you to pre-register to vote. You do not need to complete this pre-registration form if you have applied to run.

NOTE: The CDP Region 4 Pre-Endorsement Conference is for elected or appointed credentialed participants in the state party’s endorsement process.

Eligible voters include:
• Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) Members with full voting rights,
• Regular County Central Committee Members, and
• Designated representatives of Chartered Clubs and Organizations (CCOs) (1 per 20 Democrats in each Assembly District)

Vote-By-Mail (VBM) Ballot Deadline: VBM Ballots must be submitted to the responsible Regional Director/Convener prior to the public vote of the relevant district at the assigned CDP Pre-Endorsement Conference for that district in order for the ballots to be counted. Ballots may not be counted if they are sent to the wrong VBM address or turned in late. If you are mailing your VBM ballot(s), please make sure to send them with appropriate lead time so that they arrive at least a day before the Pre-Endorsement Conference. Ballots may also be cast on-site at the relevant CDP Pre-Endorsing Conference. It is the voter’s responsibility to make sure their VBM Ballots are received by the correct CDP Regional Director/Convener on time.

CARA ALERT: National Democratic Seniors Coordinating Council
Meeting in San Francisco on August 22nd 10am-12pm

The National Democratic Seniors Coordinating Council, an official body of the Democratic National Committee, will be meeting in conjunction with the summer meeting of the DNC in San Francisco on Thursday, August 22nd, 10am – 12pm at the Hilton SF in Union Square, 333 O’Farrell Street. Speakers at this year’s meeting include our very own Rich Fiesta, Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, Jon “Bowzer” Bauman from Sha Na Na and Max Richtman, President of the National Committee to Preserve Medicare and Social Security.  Several members of Congress are also expected to attend. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Hene Kelly, CARA’s legislative director, at 415-533-5244 or email her.

The Democratic National Committee is in need of volunteers for our Summer DNC Meeting.

The event is being held At:

The Hilton Union Square in San Francisco, CA. August 22nd through 24th

We usually do 2 or 3 National Meeting per year around the country, we invite volunteers from these areas, giving them the opportunity to participate up close with the democratic process. There are many duties including but not limited to Registration, Hosting, staffing the different caucuses and councils, etc. We are expecting many special guests including the Speaker of the House, many of the Presidential Candidates if not all, etc.

Everyone involved with the DNC in any capacity will need to be vetted. If you are interested, please provide me name, email, phone, and address. Also, indicate which day(s) and morning or after noon shift.
